the Howick historical village visit

We went to the Howick historical Village
We learnt about communication like morse code .-./.../---/.
This is how to spell my name in morse code.
Children in the past would make their toys out of wood and rope. If they were lucky they would use metal.

We got to go to go in an olden day school building. Girls got to wear their hats inside but boys were not allowed. You always had to write with your right hand. When you sang the alphabet, when you got to 'z'  you had to sing 'zed'. Students would write with something called a slate - it was like chalk boards and instead of using a piece of chalk they used a piece of stone.

It was so fun. Would you like to go one day?

  1. Kia ora Rose. I just jumped onto your post fixed a couple of things and added some photos of the day. Hope you don't mind! You recounted the day really well. I am glad you enjoyed it.
